About Pear Commerce

Pear Commerce is dedicated to two goals: (1) Bringing the benefits of direct-to-consumer marketing to CPG brands and (2) Helping retailers rapidly grow their e-commerce channel. With the aid of novel technology, we believe these goals are massively complementary. We’re adding accountability and actionability to above the line advertising and closing the loop from awareness to purchase, finally!  Everyone involved wins.

Eric Martell / Co-Founder

Eric’s foray into startups happened in 2009 when he co-founded EatStreet with Alex Wyler. Eric collaborated with Alex to build early iterations of EatStreet’s product, as well as various tech-enabled marketing tools and strategies. Eric eventually transitioned to lead the company’s data-driven efforts to make EatStreet’s marketing, sales, and operations as efficient as possible.

As a member of the founding and executive teams, Eric was hands-on with company strategy and fundraising. In 2017, Eric helped open gener8tor’s Minnesota offices. Between January 2017 and September 2018, Eric built gener8tor Minnesota’s network of mentors and investors, raised and managed a $2m fund, and supported 10 companies in two cohorts. Those companies have gone on to raise well over $15m since graduating from the program. Eric co-founded Pear Commerce with Alex in September 2018.

Alex Wyler / Co-Founder

In 2009, with co-founders Eric Martell, Alex started food-ordering company EatStreet. Using his background as a software engineer at Facebook, Alex designed and built the first version of EatStreet technology with Eric and subsequently shifted into a product leadership role. As CTO, he oversaw the technology strategy and execution for not only the product but also marketing, finance, data science, sales, and operations. Throughout his tenure, Alex remained an active member of the core company strategy team, aiding in fundraising and acquisitions, and eventually being recognized as one of Forbes’ 30 under 30 in 2018. After leaving EatStreet last year, Alex joined back up with Eric to found Pear Commerce.
